Double asymmetric split ring resonators for optical detection of organic molecules. O. 6

  • 1. Department of Electronics and Electrical Engineering, Indian Institutes of Technology Kharagpur (India)

Description

Double Asymmetric split ring resonators (DA-SRRs) exhibit four different resonant modes corresponding to their four metallic arcs. These metallic arcs share the same centre of curvature. Due to the asymmetry of the structures, the different plasmonic resonances interact with each other and produce very steep slopes in the reflection spectrum. This combination produces increased number of trapped modes that further increases the detection of organic molecules. (author)
