Production of near-zero-energy projectile-frame protons in H2+-He collisions at 4 keV

Description

The dominant processes for producing near-zero-energy projectile-frame protons in H2+-He collisions at 4-keV ion energy have been experimentally identified. The 1sσu to 2pπu and 3dσg transitions that produce these protons occur at internuclear separations of the H2+ ion that are 2.5--3 times the equilibrium separation
