Ni-Fe and Ni-W electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution

Description
The preparation and electrochemical properties of Ni-W and Ni-Fe electrocatalysts for hydrogen evolution were studied. The catalytic properties of the prepared materials were quantified in a zero gap electrolyser for alkaline electrolysis of water. 3D nickel foam was used as a substrate, on which coatings were deposited by electroplating. The properties of the prepared samples were investigated by several analyzes (SEM, XRD, EDX, XPS). The efficiency of the prepared catalysts with respect to their stability was compared. (authors)
