Observation of the oblique triangular antiferromagnetic phase in CsCu1-xCoxCl3

Description
The magnetization of the triangular antiferromagnetic system CsCu1-xCoxCl3 with x ≤ 0.032 have been measured in magnetic fields up to 7 T. For the samples with x ≥ 0.015, the new ordered phase appears at low-field and low-temperature region for both field direction H parallel c and H perpendicular c. The area of this phase is found to be enlarged with increasing x. In order to determine the magnetic structure of the ordered phases, elastic neutron scattering experiments have been performed with the sample x approx. = 0.03. It was found that the spin structure in the intermediate phase is identical to that of pure CsCuCl3, and that an oblique triangular antiferromagnetic spin structure is realized in the new low-temperature phase.
