The geodetic approach for HERA
Description
At DESY in Hamburg the electron-proton-collider HERA is under construction. It consists of two independent storage rings designed for 30 GeV electrons and 820 GeV protons. The demanded relative accuracy of some tenths of a millimeter can be achieved by specific alignment techniques and survey equipment. Methods and first results are described
