Hydrogen embrittlement of Zr alloys
Description
A consideration is given to the process of zirconium alloy hydrogen embrittlement due to molecular hydrogen pressure in the voids formed near triple joints of grain boundaries, and due to volumetric changes during hydride phase formation. A physical basis of embrittlement mechanisms rests on diffusion processes in the vicinity of structural imperfections, among which triple joints of grain boundaries play a leading role. These structural defects possess powerful stress fields and are in direct contact with grain boundaries
Abstract (Russian)
Additional details
