Description
The water of Ganga, one of the major river of Indian subcontinent was analyzed for total solid content and four trace metal constituents at Narora (Uttar Pradesh). The four trace metals namely Fe, Cu, Ni and Zn are determined using Atomic Absorption Spectrometric technique. The monthwise variation of total solids is highly correlated with the monthwise variation in Fe, Ni, Cu and Zn contents. The values of total solids and trace metals show a definite seasonal pattern and are found to be remarkably high in rainy season. The data could be used as reference data for the region. (author)
