Empirical parametrization of the shielding of end-stops at high-energy proton accelerators
Description
This paper describes the empirical parametrization of Monte-Carlo Hadron-cascade calculations so as to specify biological shielding in end-stop geometries. Some consideration is given to the relationship between the star-density (the density of inelastic hadron interactions) and dose equivalent. A reasonable parametrization of the lateral shielding situation can be obtained: this is not the case for the forward shielding situation
