Description

Dependence of radiation-chemical yield of methoxy-radicals on the electron part of alcohol in a wide range of water-methanol mixtures has been studied. Electron pulse duration constituted 2.3μs, electron energy - 5 MeV, dose per impulse - 2.5 Krad. Iodide-ion has been used as acceptor of CH3O radicals. Dependence of the yield of CH3O radicals per 100 eV of absorbed energy of alcohol electron part in the mixture is presented. The yield (G) of methoxy-radicals in pure methanol constituted 2.4. Dependence of the radical yield on the mixture composition in described with the straight line: G(CHsub(3)O)=G(CHsub(3)O)sub(pure methanol) x fsub(CHsub(3)OH)+0.2(1-fsub(CHsub(3)OH)), where fsub(CHsub(3)OH) - is electron part of methanol in aqueous-alcohol mixture
