Description
This paper summarizes the studies presented in the Symposium. In addition it includes a discussion of the present tools and techniques available for the study of neurobiology such as molecular genetic technologies, tight-seal patch electrodes, postmortem dyes, and imaging techniques. Advances in the theory and practice of neural networks, together with availability of fast computers, have made it feasible to use network models as a way of posing and explaining hypotheses
