Elastic and quasi-elastic scattering of slow electrons on atoms and ions with one vacancy in closed shell

Description
The process of elastic electron scattering on atoms and ions with the vacancy in one of closed shells is investigated in the framework of random phase approximation with exchange (RPAE). Spin flip in this process (quasielastic scattering) is also considered. A possibility of the presluce of arbitrary orbital moment and high polarization in a target atom is taken into account. Differential cross sections of elastic and quasielastic electron scatterings on single positive argon ions and complete cross section of quasielastic electron scattering on K atoms are calculated. A satisfactory agreement with the experiment is obtained
