Radiation effect on the physical and mechanical properties of carbon plastic

Description
The epoxide carbon plastic samples were irradiated by the flux of 2-4 x 1014 protons/cm2 with the energy of E = 0.8 - 1.34 GeV from the Serpukhov accelerator annular injector for studying its physico-mechanical features. The doses, obtained by the samples during irradiation, correspond to the single and twofold lifetime of the supporting structure from the carbon plastic of the internal detector of the ATLAS facility. No radiation effect on the carbon plastic thermal, elastic, strength properties and physical features was revealed within the studied spectrum and loading range. The radiation resistance of the KMU-4L epoxide carbon plastic for applying it as structural material for supporting structures of this detector is confirmed

Образцы эпоксидного углепластика облучались потоком 2-4 х 1014 протонов/см2 с энергией Е = 0.8 - 1.34 ГэВ от кольцевого инжектора Серпуховского ускорителя для изучения его физико-механических характеристик. Дозы, которые образцы набирали во время облучения, соответствуют одинарному и двойному сроку эксплуатации опорных структур из углепластика внутреннего детектора установки АТЛАС. Не выявлено влияния радиационного воздействия (в исследованном спектре и диапазоне нагружения) на термические, упругие, прочностные свойства и физические характеристики углепластика. Подтверждена радиационная стойкость эпоксидного углепластика КМУ-4Л для использования в качестве конструкционного материала опорных конструкций для этого детектораAdditional details
