Application of a drift chamber for measurement of coefficient of X-ray attenuation in gaseous xenon
Description
Technique of photoeffect cross section measurement in gas using a drift chamber is considered. The values of mass coefficient of attenuation at the expense of photoeffect in xenon for the energies 15.7, 16.6, 17.4 and 25.2 keV are obtained. The error for the results obtained constitutes ≤ 3%. The technique described can be used for the measurement of total coefficient of radiation attenuation and compton scattering cross section
