RAPS. A threedimensional plotprogram for testing of the model and for plotting of the results of finite-element calculations

Description

Usually in Finite-Element calculations a large amount of data is produced and because individual results have no meaning, graphic representation is bestsuited. It is convenient to link the F E Software-System with pre- and postprocessors. The plotting system RAPS, presented on the following pages, offers many possibilities for testing and description of two- or threedimensional structures, as well as for interpretation of results of static and dynamic calculations. The programm was developed for the F E System ASKA but it is possible to fit it to other F E Systems. At present the program is laid out for batchoperation. However it is planned to develop an interactive version of RAPS and to enlarge the postprocessor. (orig.)

Abstract (German)

Bei Finite-Element-Berechnungen faellt eine grosse Menge von Daten an, zu deren effizienter Handhabung die graphische Darstellung am besten geeignet ist. Sinnvollerweise koppelt man deshalb das eigentliche FE-Programm mit Pre- und Postprozessoren. Das hier vorgestellte Plotprogramm RAPS bietet sowohl umfangreiche Moeglichkeiten zum Test und zur Darstellung (einschl. unsichtbare Linien) dreidimensionaler Strukturen als auch zur Ergebnisauswertung statischer und dynamischer Berechnungen. Das Programm wurde fuer das FE-Softwarepaket ASKA entwickelt- Es ist moeglich, das Programm an andere FE-Systeme anzupassen. Zur Zeit ist das Programm fuer Batchbetrieb ausgelegt. Es ist jedoch geplant, in Kuerze auch eine interaktive Version von RAPS zu erstellen und den Postprozessor zu erweitern. (orig.)
