Classical automatization of bielectronic atoms

Description

The autoionization of two-electron atoms is investigated by methods of stochastic dynamics. The case is considered of a strongly extended outer electron orbit whose radius considerably exceedes the radius of the inner electron orbit. The threshold for stochastic motion of the outer electron is determined. Classical autoionization resembles the diffusion of the outer electron along highly excited orbits. The autoionization rate is evaluated
