Description
Described here is a hybrid discontinuous finite element-spectral nodal method for slab-geometry one-speed transport problems without spatial truncation error. For the angular approximation the author used a linear discontinuous (LD) expansion for the angular flux inside each of the N elements of a uniform angular grid. This procedure yields the LDN equations that is solved numerically using the Spectral Green's Function (SGF) method with the one-node block inversion (NBI) iterative scheme. The SGF method generates numerical solutions for the LDN equations that are completely free from spatial approximations. Numerical results are given to illustrate the methods accuracy
