Global stability of occupational exposure to ionizing radiations in 2012 according to IRSN

In 2012 the numbers of workers who were monitored concerning exposure to radiation was 354.665, it means an increase of 3% compared to 2011. 96% of them received an occupational yearly dose below 1 mSv and 0.5% of them over 6 mSv, and 15 workers received a dose beyond the limit fixed by work regulations. Among these 15 workers 13 worked in the medical sector and 1 in the nuclear sector and another one in the non-nuclear sector. In 2012 11 workers got internal contamination above 1 mSv, the highest dose being 4 mSv. The average radiological dose over the whole monitored population reached 0.18 mSv per person in 2012 which was similar to the average received dose of 2011 (0.19 mSv). (A.C.)
