Pharmacokinetics of 14C-ambazone in small laboratory animals
- 1. Akademie der Wissenschaften der DDR, Jena. Zentralinstitut fuer Mikrobiologie und Experimentelle Therapie
Description
The pharmakokinetics of ambazone in rats and mice after i.v. and oral administration of the 14C-labelled compound was studied. Ambazone is incompletely absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract to an extent of about 35-50%. It is distributed rapidly and to a high extent to various tissues and is preferentially excreted via the kidneys. After i.v. administration of doses of 50 or 100 mg/kg the disposition half-life of total radioactivity is in a range of 6-10 h in blood and plasma of rats and 11-15 h in blood or serum of mice.
