Radiation ecological monitoring within the 30 km area surrounding the NPP Belene site
Description
The Ministry of Environment in addition to the basic radiological control performs radiological control of regions with potential radioactive contaminators, such as Kozloduy NPP and regions with closed uranium mines. A radiation monitoring programme is developed for the region outside the controlled zone of the Belene NPP including gamma background monitoring, atmospheric radioactivity, radioactivity of soils, water and river sediments. The results from the radiation monitoring of the 30 km are around the Belene NPP for 2000 - 2003 are presented. The measurements show that the Belene site is in a good radiation condition with no deviations from the background values
