Phonon modes in non-crystalline binary Li-Na alloy

  • 1. Dept. of Physics, Sardar Patel University , Vallabh Vidyanagar (India)

Description

The collective mode of non-crystalline lithium-sodium binary alloy system (viz. Li0.69Na0.31) have been studied in terms of the Eigen-frequencies of the localized collective excitations using model potential formalism. The self-consistent phonon scheme involving multiple scattering and phonon Eigen-frequencies expressed in terms of many-body correlation function of atoms as well as of interatomic potential in the solids has been used. The pair potential using model pseudopotential with advanced local field correlation function is used to investigate influence of the screening effects on the phonon dispersion curve (PDC). The results are consistence when compared other such available results. (author)
