Computer simulation of parametric instabilities in plasma with two ion species

Description
Method of macroparticles was used to investigate the development of parametric (modified decay and aperiodic) instabilities in plasma with two type ions, located in magnetic field and in electric pumping field, perpendicular to it, with frequency lower, than hybrid one. Unstable oscillations propagate perpendicularly to magnetic field. Amplitude of the relative ion velocity is of the order of ten initial values of thermal ion velocity. Evolution of oscillation spectra and dynamics of turbulent ion heating were investigated. 14 refs.; 7 figs
