The assessment of the radiation dose-rate for thermoluminescence dating

Creators

Description

The method of alpha counting is used widely to determine the dose-rate from the uranium and thorium series for thermoluminescence dating. A survey of recently tabulated data on the energies, abundances and decay schemes of the contributing radioisotopes necessary for the dose-rate calculation has shown up significant variations from previous values. A table of dose-rate conversion factors based on these recent data is given. (author)
