Study on the cluster emission from excited compound nuclei

  • 1. Joint Inst. for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)

Description

On the basis of the evaporation model calculations have been done for the cross sections of cluster formation in the decay of excited compound nuclei with Z=49, 65, 80, 97 produced in the reactions Ag+3He in the 3He ion energy range from 50 up to 130 MeV, and in the reactions 40Ar+Ag, 40Ar+154Sm and 40Ar+197Au at an 40Ar ion energy of 336 MeV. The influence of various factors (shell effects in the level density, changes in the angular momentum and in the equilibrium deformation at the cluster emission, etc.) on the cluster emission cross section has been considered in detail. A good agreement between the calculated results and the experimental data has been obtained without using additional factors associated with a probability of the cluster formation in compound nuclei
