Movement of water pulse in soil column by gamma ray transmission method
Description
Laboratory controlled studies are carried out to study the flow of moisture in soil column. The measurement of moisture in different cross-section of the soil with time are done for different soil samples by gamma-ray transmission method. 'Soil column approach' is suggested for the quantitative analysis of the experimental data in order to understand the rate of flow of moisture in unsaturated soil strata. Based on these studies, a model is suggested to find out the moisture in unsaturated soil strata and losses due to surface run-off and evaporation. (author). 11 figs
