Extraction of trivalent f-elements by the macrocyclic polyethers 18-crown-6 and 15-crown-5 in the presence of various hydrophobic anions
Creators
Description
Results are presented for the extraction of trivalent Am and Eu by nitrobenzene solutions of crown ethers (15C5 and 18C6) from acidic and weakly acidic media in the presence of the hydrophobic anions of picric acid, dipicrylamine, higher isomeric carboxylic acids, di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid, and chlorinated cobalt dicarbollide. Higher selectivity for extraction of the pair Am-Eu is observed in systems containing 18C6. The separation factors increase in solutions with high ionic strength
