Projects and practice of the construction of power plants in France

Description

In France nuclear power plants are commissioned with less delay on the planned time scale than in other countries - only about 2 years on an average. It is believed that around 1985 the total output of the nuclear power plants operated in this country will amount to 40 GW. The present program provides for the installation of 35 GW in power plants containing PWR's and 1200 MW in power plants with fast breeder reactors (Crey-Malville) 15 years after the begin of construction of the first pressurized water reactor in the power plant at Fessenheim (1970). Most of the 25 PWR units presently under construction will be terminated in accordance with the planned construction times or with delays of a few months. (orig./UA)

Abstract (German)

In Frankreich werden Kernkraftwerke mit einer geringeren Verspaetung gegenueber den planmaessigen Terminen in Betrieb genommen als in anderen Laendern - durchschnittlich um nur ca. 2 Jahre. Es herrscht die Ueberzeugung, dass um 1985 die gesamte Leistung der in diesem Lande betriebener Kernkraftwerke 40 GW erreichen wird. Das gegenwaertige Programm sieht 15 Jahre nach dem Baubeginn des ersten Druckwasserreaktors im Kernkraftwerk Fessenheim (1970) die Einfuehrung von 35 GW mit PWR-Reaktoren und 1 200 MW in Kraftwerken mit Schnellen Bruetern (Crey-Malville) vor. Die meisten der z.Zt. im Bau befindlichen 25 Bloecke mit Druckwasserreaktoren werden im Einklang mit den planmaessigen Terminen oder mit Verspaetungen um wenige Monate fertiggestellt. (orig./UA)
