Determination of soil water diffusivity by using a gamma ray method

Description

An experimental method has been used to determine the main soil hydrophysical properties which are required in the modelling predicting and control of water exchange processes in water nonsaturated soil. The method is labor-saving and gives rapid and accurate determinations. It permits for the measurements to be repeated many times without disturbing the physical condition of the soil sample. The method also could be computerized and in this case the duration of the various operations is minimal. Samples of various soil types and horizons have been used to show the applicability of the offered method in practical work
