Description
Starting from the particle-plus-rotor model a cranking equation with an effective particle hamiltonian is derived. Calculations are presented for the case of particles confined to an isub(13/2) valence shell. The cranking equation is solved within the HFB approximations and results are compared with the exact solutions. The relationship between the particle-plus-rotor model and the cranking model is discussed as well as the mechanism that leads to the attenuation of the Coriolis interaction. (orig.)
