Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma - a case report

Description
The authors report a case of a 20-year-old woman whose first symptom was severe headache followed by seizures. Conventional X-ray, computed tomography and magnetic resonance of the head showed an expansive mass on the right parietal lobe, close to the occipital horn of the lateral ventricle. Osteolysis of the internal table and expansion of the external table of the skull were also observed. After surgery, the diagnosis of pleomorphic xantho astrocytoma was established by histopathologic analysis. (author)
