Development of an image analysis system for plastic track detectors
- 1. Nihon Univ., Narashino, Chiba (Japan). Coll. of Industrial Technology
Description
The author developed a personal computer-supported simple and semi-automatic image analysis system for measuring particle tracks in plastic track detectors. A microscope is equipped with a stage driven by pulse motors, which are controlled by a personal computer. The video images of particle tracks seen through the microscope are digitized and analyzed in real time. This paper describes the system and the measuring method of the elliptical image of track opening. We also report the applicability of this measuring system to the analysis of cosmic particle tracks and to the determination of particles' trajectories. (author)
