Photoelectric profile measurements of Hα and Hβ in Be stars

Description
We present photoelectric measurements of Ha and H in 14 Be stars. We find from a shape analysis of the wings of Ha that a Gaussian broadening mechanism is reasonable whereas a damping profile is not. It is suggested on this basis that the width and shape of Ha can be reasonably interpreted as a combination of shell rotation and electron scattering.
