Pre-equilibrium γ rays from single-particle radiative transitions in the hybrid model

Description

A formulation is developed for γ ray emission via single-particle radiative transitions in the hybrid model. Pre-equilibrium γ emission rates, derived using the Brink-Axel hypothesis and detailed balance, are influenced little by the dipole effective charge and are consistent with the established equilibrium limit. The model can explain a considerable part of the γ rays in the giant resonance range observed in nuclear reactions. (orig.)
