Evaluation of the weighted geometric center in the intracavitary therapy for carcinoma of the uterine cervix using remote afterloader
- 1. Osaka Prefectural Center for Adult Diseases (Japan)
Description
In the intracavitary technique, the border of the target volume is generally determined by the local anatomy and applicators employed. Since the non-rigid applicator is used at our department, there are some differences between point A dose on both sides, and also between the planned and delivered doses of point A. Based on this study, it is suggested that the weighted geometric center is reflected in the inclination of the dose distribution and the change of mgh. It seems likely that the weighted geometric center is one of parameters to compare the intracavitary technique for carcinoma of the uterine cervix. (author)
