Large Psub(T) hadron production, related processes and a composite model of quark

Description

It is shown that a composite model of quark we have proposed can explain the P sub(T)sup(-8) behavior in large P sub(T) hadron production. The key point is that the form factor of quark behaves (Q2)sup(-1/2) at large Q2 in our model. Our model makes unique predictions in many respects which are different from quark parton model with anomalous quark-quark scattering. In our model, rho sub(J)sup(pp) -- P sub(T)sup(-8)(1-x sub(T))5, rho sub(J)sup(πp) -- P sub(T)sup(-8)(1-x sub(T))sup(3.5), rho sub(pp→π0X)/rho sub(πp→π0X) -- (1-x sub(T))sup(3/2) near x sub(T)=1 and dσ/dt sub(pp→pp) -- s-10 f(theta) at large s and fixed theta. The ratio of multiplicity functions in lepton processes to pp→Jet + X behaves (1-z) near z=1. The exponent m(rho -- P sub(T)sup(-8)(1-x sub(T))sup(m) or (dσ/dz)/σ -- (1-z)sup(m)) in various single hadron production processes is also discussed. (auth.)
