The paper/presentation is devoted to remediation of contaminated facilities at the Russian research centre Kurchatov Institute in 2006. • Assessment of migration of the radioactive contamination with groundwater. • Proposed means of remediation of the RW disposal site at the Institute. • Technologies employed for radioactive waste handling and extraction from old disposal facilities. • Development of new radiation monitoring methods and instruments during elimination of the old RW repositories. • Technologies for decontamination of radioactive soil and metal.
