Angular distributions of the multifragmentation of deformed nuclei in heavy ion reactions
Description
The theory of multifragmentation of the heavy ion reactions between the nuclei of Beryllium (Z = 4) and Flourine (Z = 9) is studied following the statistical scission model. The multifragmentation product of this reaction is six alpha particles and four nucleons which are sequentially emitted from primary fragment populated in direct reactions. The angular distributions of the fission fragments are numerically calculated for incident energies with different values in the range Elab = 35 - 406 MeV. The present calculations show that the statistical scission model predicts the variance with too weak energy dependence, which possibly indicates dynamical effects. (author)
