Measurement of neutron cross scattering cross sections of 235U
Creators
Description
Differential cross sections for neutron elastic (ground state +77eV+13 keV) and inelastic (46.2 + 51.7 keV) scattering from 235U have been measured at incident neutron energies of 570 and 700 keV using a high resolution neutron time-of-flight spectrometer. The measurements were taken at ten different angles ranging from 45 degrees to 135 degrees in ten-degree steps. Neutrons were produced at the University of Massachusetts Lowell 5.5 MV Van de Graaff accelerator using the 7Li(p,n)7Be reaction. Corrections for neutron multiple scattering were obtained from a Monte Carlo simulation program. Comparisons of our measurements with previous results are given
