Distribution of X-ray sources in the galaxy. II
Description
The distribution of the strongest X-ray sources near the galactic nucleus is consistent with evolved products of massive stars condensed in the past from such rings of dense interstellar matter as are presently observed to be expanding in the vicinity of the galactic plane from the radii of a few hundred parsecs. Some of the weaker and more dispersed field sources may be aging ex-strong sources. X-ray sources in globular clusters may be derived from stars recently condensed out of the ejecta of evolving red giants in the clusters
