Autocatalytic solid-phase reactions
Description
High-temperature interaction of beryllium and aluminium oxides with formation of chrysoberyl is considered on the basis of established regularities of the course of autocatalytic solid-phase reactions. The process of phase formation is shown to take place without reconstructive changes in the first and second coordination spheres and to be limited by the stage of local-equilibrium surface phase formation, i. e. the intensity of nucleation in the given case is rather high
