Coexistence of parity-mixed and parity-unmixed spectroscopies in 227Ra
Description
Experimental evidence in 227Ra is presented for parity-mixed, parity-doublet 3/2± and 1/2± bands (beginning at the ground state and 120.71 keV respectively) on the one hand, and the parity-unmixed reflection symmetric band 5/2+ [633] (beginning at 1.74 keV) on the other. These coexistent spectroscopies can be explained by an intermediate coupling calculation in which a quasiparticle is coupled to a rotor core which has an intrinsic K=0 reflection asymmetric degree of freedom.
