Description
The paper gives a general review of the present state of high temperature corrosion and coatings from the viewpoint of application in stationary gas turbines. The demand for a more economic engine may be fulfilled among other things by more corrosion resistant materials. Here the metallurgy of possible coatings and the technology of their application plays an important role. The extensively controllable coatings which have been deposited from a state of 'particulate matter' (thermal vapor depositon, powder spraying) are continually gaining importance. (orig.)
