Description

A simplified treatment of the thermally activated dislocation glide is presented. The experimental techniques available for studying thermally activated deformation are discussed with specific reference to the evaluation of the important thermodynamic variables, viz. tau, tausub(μ),V,H and Hsub(o). Lastly, results obtained at Harwell in the study of radiation hardening by this method are briefly summarized. (author)
