Production of 123I by a small-size cyclotron and synthesis of Na 123I radiopharmaceutical
Description
A method of 123I production and the Na 123I radiopharmaceutical synthesis for diagnostics of thyroid gland diseases is described. The method in based on the 123Te(p,n)123I reaction, being optimal for small-size cyclotrons like the MGC-20 one. A high radionuclide purification of the Na 123I pharmaceutical is obtained using 123Te with the 96 % enrichment
