Description
In a radioactive material container for storing wastes which contain precipitating radioactive materials, a flask-like first shielding member is disposed at the inner lower portion of the container. A tray-like second shielding member having a greater density than the first shielding member is disposed at the center of the first shielding member. With such a constitution, since the radioactive materials can be kept in the tray-like second shielding member having high density by utilizing the flask-like first shielding member even if the radioactive materials are precipitated, the thickness of shieldings at the bottom and on the side may be such that the standard dose rate can be satisfied with a low radiation concentration in a uniform mixture. Accordingly, the volume of the inner space of the radioactive material container may be substantially identical with that in the conventional cases and, since the containing amount is increased, the number of radioactive material containers can be decreased.
