Description

Fe2O3 (1, 3 and 10 mole %) in Al2O3 system prepared by spray-decomposition was studied by Moessbauer spectroscopy. The iron atoms have two main positions due to the octahedral (O6) and tetrahedral (T4) sites of the defect spinel structure. In both O6 and T4 positions the iron atoms have a wide range of environments originated by the high intensity of the lattice dislocations and vacancies. (author)
