Description

The performance of a drift tube prototype in a 0.5 TeV/c muon beam was studied. Presented is a comparison of experimental data with a GEANT simulation in order to determine the validity of the Monte Carlo in simulating the detector performance in the presence of the electromagnetic contamination associated with high energy muons. The Monte Carlo simulation generally was with few exceptions in 30% or better agreement with the data. ((orig.))
