P-T diagram and conditions for preparation of lanthanoid oxyhalide crystals

Description
Preparation of lanthanoid oxyhalides (LnOX) by the method of transport chemical reactions (TCR) in result of hydrolysis of corresponding halides is described. Thermodynamic analysis of TCR of LnOX compounds is given by calculating temperature dependences of equilibrium constants of the main reaction. P-T diagram was constructed for erbium oxychloride with vapor -solid body phases. LnOX monocrystals were grown by the modified Bridgman method, crystal structure of these compounds was determined. 7 refs.; 1 fig
