  • 1. National Atomic Energy Agency, Jakarta (Indonesia). Pasar Djumat Research Centre

Description

The determination of Hg, Pb, Cd and Cr in ocean fishes restreliger species, pampus chinansis, sephea, katsuomes and penaeus sp obtained from July 1976 until February 1977, was done atomic absorption spectrometrically. The method involves wet destruction with concentrated H2SO4 and H2O2 30%, mercury was distilled out with the addition of HBr and determined by flameless AAS. In the aliqout of the residu, Pb and Cd were determined by AAS. For Cr, the samples was destructed by ashing with Mg(NO3)2, before determination with AAS. The results obtained in terms of concentration range were Hg 0.18-0.31 ppm; Cd 0.17-0.44 ppm; Pb 0.05-0.56 ppm and Cr 0.53-2.08 ppm. (author)
