Description

Chemoradiotherapy (CRT) is often chosen for unresectable or refusal surgery with esophageal cancer patients. We retrospectively analyzed each stage; cStage I /cStege II-III (non T4)/T4 M1LYM =28/24/27 patients, and complete response (CR)/non CR =39/33 patients. For each stage, the CR rates were 100/47.8/12.5 (%) and median survival time (MST) was not reached/18.9/9.5 (months). For each CR/non CR group, MST was 29.5/9.1 (months). Survival was significantly prolonged for the CR group compared with the non CR group. Although our study included only a small number of patients and a short follow-up time, our results were generally similar to the data reported in Japan Clinical Oncology Group (JCOG) clinical studies.
