Trace elements in human brain tissue by INAA

Description

Trace elements have been implicated as neurotoxic factors in a number of human brain disorders. We have developed instrumental neutron activation analysis (INAA) procedures employing both high flux density thermal and 14 MeV neutron irradiations for the determination of at least 18 elements in human brain tissue. The data obtained are being used to study the role of trace elements in Alzheimer's Disease and in aging. (author)
